I think we are past the point of anyone not realizing Jackson Merrill OF SD is really good. Merrill is clearly outperforming the other Jackson mega prospects (Chourio and Holliday). Since Jun 8 Merrill is hitting .370 with 7 home runs, 4 doubles, 10 runs scored, 13 RBI and an .833 SLG.

Tyler Locklear had the sole home run of the night, a very long shot to LF that can be seen below. Locklear was the 58th overall pick in the 2022 draft. He’s listed 6’2 210 and is every bit of that. Locklear’s K rate is lower than you might expect for a power guy and currently sits at 21% with a walk rate consistently over 10%.

This was my first live look at Snelling and he showed us a bit of everything. It looked like Snelling mostly worked 3 pitches, a FB that sat 93 and touched 94, an 85 mph CH, and a 79 mph slider. Snelling threw 80 pitches over 5 2/3 innings, 52 of which were strikes.
