Royce, Shota, Riley, Crews, Morris, and Brooks Lee
Jun 21, 2024
I had an extended look at Royce Lewis during the 2019 Arizona Fall League where he won the MVP award. His athleticism was obvious and even then he was one of those electric players that just grabs your attention.

Luke Keaschall is the player I was most interested in seeing this week. I’ve written about him several times recently and if you’re following you know how much I liked him out of the draft.

Tink Hence / Cardinals v Travelers Jun 5, 2024

Hence sailed through the 1st using only 11 pitches (8 strikes) to move through Harry Ford, Cole Young, and Spencer Packard.

Sod Poodles v Travelers May 28, 2024

Cole Young went 2 for 4 on the night with a home run and a stolen base. Young’s power is pull side and he tapped into it in the 4th with a deep shot to RF that easily cleared the fence. It was off a bender and he turned on it nicely.

Naturals v Travelers May 14, 2024
May 14, 2024
I didn’t come into the game planning to focus on Naturals SP Mason Barnett but he quickly caught everyone’s attention as he struck out the first 5 Travelers he faced. A list that includes top Seattle Mariners prospects Cole Young, Harry Ford, and Tyler Locklear.

Missions v Travelers May 4, 2024

Tyler Locklear had the sole home run of the night, a very long shot to LF that can be seen below. Locklear was the 58th overall pick in the 2022 draft. He’s listed 6’2 210 and is every bit of that. Locklear’s K rate is lower than you might expect for a power guy and currently sits at 21% with a walk rate consistently over 10%.

Missions v Travelers May 3, 2024

This was my first live look at Snelling and he showed us a bit of everything. It looked like Snelling mostly worked 3 pitches, a FB that sat 93 and touched 94, an 85 mph CH, and a 79 mph slider. Snelling threw 80 pitches over 5 2/3 innings, 52 of which were strikes.

Reid VanScoter started for the Travs and went 6 innings, giving up just 7 baserunners and 1 run while striking out 4. This lowered VanScoter’s ERA to 2.77 on the year. A really nice start to his second pro season and coming off 143.1 IP of 3.27 ERA at high A last year.
